Vicky Phelan shares 'beautiful family momento' that her kids can keep forever

Vicky Phelan took to Instagram today to share a stunning gift she described as “a beautiful family memento to have forever.”

The mother-of-two thanked the owner at Memory Lane Studio, Sue, for contacting her and arranging to do castings of her and her family's hands.

Sharing pictures of the stunning results, Vicky said “it is so important to do these things now and create these physical memories that my kids will have when I am gone.”

She explained that: “Sue made contact with me on Instagram and we arranged for her and her lovely husband to come to our hotel room in Dublin when we were up to visit Wild Lights at @dublinzoo_official.”

“For me, it is so important to do these things now and create these physical memories that my kids will have when I am gone.”

The CervicalCheck campaigner just weeks ago updated her followers saying that she is now in "manageable pain" as she shared beautiful snaps of afternoon tea in a five-star hotel.

She had taken a break from social media during the month of March after she suffered serious complications following a course of radiotherapy in February.

At the time she admitted that due to her cancer treatment, she’d "never been in so much pain".

However, in her most recent update, she confirmed that she was back walking on her "own two feet" without the help of a Zimmer frame or a wheelchair.

In the sweet message posted this afternoon, Vicky went on to say how thankful she was for being able to “leave behind physical bits of me for the kids to have.”

“I cannot thank Sue enough for making this possible for me and for taking on this project and making the whole thing so easy for me because THIS situation that I find myself in is NOT easy BUT I really want to leave behind physical bits of me for the kids to have.”
