Vicky Pattison on regret for 'vapid' past as volunteer work puts life in perspective

Vicky Pattison has been reflecting on her past and says she thinks she spent too much time not giving anything worthwhile to the world.

The 35-year-old reality star first entered the spotlight back in 2011 as a cast member of MTV’s Geordie Shore.

She then featured on a string of other attention grabbing shows including Ex on the Beach, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Celebrity Coach Trip and many more.

Vicky has recently been volunteering in a soup kitchen which has led her to look back on her past - discovering a new level of gratitude for the life she has lived so far.

She told The Sun: “It’s always important to give whatever you can but especially now, with the cost of living crisis.

“I’m incredibly grateful for my life and always will be. But when I’ve volunteered and you talk to people, you do realise how vapid some of my life has been.

“Things like going to Dubai for New Year’s Eve just aren’t important any more.”

Vicky has been opening up about her future plans in recent weeks - and explained to her fans that she has opted to freeze her eggs ahead of starting a family.

Sharing a snap of herself and her fiancé Ercan Ramadan standing outside a clinic, Vicky wrote on Instagram earlier this month: “Last week @ercan_ram and I took our first proper steps to hopefully adding to our family in the future.

“I haven't posted about this as I haven't really known what to say and stupidly everytime I do start typing about it, I cry - and I really haven't needed more of a reason to be tearful recently with my bloody period still making me seem completely emotionally unstable.”

She continued: “Anyway, I just wanted to say a big Thankyou to the amazing team at @londonwomensclinic who were so kind, understanding and just lovely to us as we were pretty nervous and emotional.”

Additionally, she told fans this week that she has expanded her family, in a sense - as she has adopted a new dog.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, she opened up about volunteering at Many Tears Animal Rescue on Christmas Eve morning to "spoil all the precious babies" who were spending Christmas at the shelter.

She explained she then took a dog called Max home for the first time.

Sharing a number of videos and photos at the time, Vicky wrote:"The first ever photo of my babies together... Look at how proud Max looks to come home man. "I just wanted to say a huge thank you to @manytearsrescue for trusting us with this special responsibility..."
