Vicky Pattison has shared details of her egg freezing journey as she opened up to fans about her plans for starting a family with her fiancé, Ercan Ramdan.
The 35-year-old former Geordie Shore star revealed she and 38-year-old Ercan have visited a clinic to undergo fertility testing and will be fertilising eggs - with the resulting embryos due to be frozen so they can begin their family at a later date.
And Vicky also explained that she was overcome with emotions as she tried to share her news with fans.
She also explained that she wanted to share her own journey as a way of highlighting to fans and other women that there are different ways of planning and starting a family.
Sharing a snap of herself and Ercan standing outside a clinic, Vicky wrote on Instagram : “Last week @ercan_ram and I took our first proper steps to hopefully adding to our family in the future.
“I haven't posted about this as I haven't really known what to say and stupidly everytime I do start typing about it, I cry - and I really haven't needed more of a reason to be tearful recently with my bloody period still making me seem completely emotionally unstable.”
She continued: “Anyway, I just wanted to say a big Thankyou to the amazing team at @londonwomensclinic who were so kind, understanding and just lovely to us as we were pretty nervous and emotional.”
Going into more details, she went on: “We each had a series of scans and tests - I've got to be honest, it was a sight to behold watching erc toddle off clutching his little cup for his 'sample'. And luckily we're all healthy and in a good position to prepare for the egg retrieval process in the new year!
“Then if everything goes to plan we'll make our gorgeous little embryos and our frozen family will be there waiting for us When we do decide to start that next chapter of lives.”
Opening up about her story, Vicky wrote: “I want women to be aware that there is more than one route to motherhood and happiness - but we have to understand more about our OWN bodies first and I think there's a real lack of honest information out there - and we also have to understand that every woman's experience with having children or trying to have children is different.
“In the new year I will be doing my best to share every step of this process with you- chronicling the highs and the lows of our embryo freezing process - just to give those ladies out there thinking about doing it an accurate understanding of how it can look!”
Vicky went on to reveal that she will be sharing her journey via ITV's Lorraine, and also turned to her followers for any tips and advice they could share on the topic.
Her post was met with a warm reception, with many followers congratulating her on her news and thanking her for sharing her experience so far.
While many more wished the couple the best of luck on their journey to parenthood.
