Vicky Pattison 'denied' break from Geordie Shore after desperate plea for time off

Vicky Pattison has claimed she was 'denied' a break from Geordie Shore after she begged producers to give her time off to see family, being told she'd be 'replaced' if she wanted to leave.

Vicky will appear ion Sky News on Thursday night, when she gives a sit down interview to Beth Rigby, the reporter who was an almost constant presence on screen during the height of the Covid pandemic as she fired questions to Boris Johnson and other Government officials during the Downing Street briefings.

The purpose of Vicky's appearance on Sky was to talk about her candid documentary My Dad, Alcohol and Me, which will see her talk about her dad's struggle with drink and the effect it's had on her, with her genuinely concerned she'd go the same way.

Vicky, who won I'm A Celebrity at the end of 2015, first shot to fame four years earlier as an original cast member on Geordie Shore. When the show launched in 2011, Vicky became an instant favourite with fans, largely thanks to her witty pieces to camera, out of year shot from the rest of the cast.

She stayed on the show for nearly four years, but made the headlines for the wrong reasons in 2014 when she threw a show at a reveller in a Newcastle club. Vicky has since described the incident and subsequent court case as “one of the lowest moments” of her life.

Vicky opens up about her struggles on the MTV show to Beth, admitting: "I got into a lot of trouble on my time on Geordie Shore, through being unhappy, out of control and losing all the things I liked about myself."

Addressing her desperate need for a break at the time, Vicky continues: "There was one pivotal moment where I knew I needed a break; I was going through a lot of personally and I got told 'After the next series you're definitely going to have a long break, you can go on holiday, see your family, do whatever,' and then they put another series in and took that break away."

She adds: "I told them I needed a break; I said for my mental health that I shouldn't have been doing another series and they said 'That's absolutely fine, but web will replace you;.

" In that moment, I really believed I was working towards something, making a huge show with everybody and actually, I just realised I was very replaceable and undervalued So that was the beginning of the end for me."

Vicky's Geordie Shore departure was announced at the end of 2014, with her going onto land her own MTV show Judge Geordie before becoming Queen of the Jungle.

Vicky's interview with Beth Rigby will air on Sky News at 9pm on Thursday, July 21.
