A key welterweight matchup is in the works for an upcoming UFC Fight Night event.
On Aug. 6, Vicente Luque will face Geoff Neal in a bout set for three rounds. A source with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking following an initial report from ESPN. The event, expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight matchup between Thiago Santos and Jamahal Hill does not yet have a confirmed venue or location.
Luque (21-8-1 MMA, 14-4 UFC), 30, will look to rebound from a main event setback against Belal Muhammad at UFC on ESPN 34. Prior to the unanimous decision loss, Luque ripped through the division, rattling off four-straight stoppage victories. Niko Price, Randy Brown, Tyron Woodley, and Michael Chiesa all received losses on their record by the hands and submission skills of Luque.
