Pete Hegseth's confirmation comes after a contentious debate in the Senate, with both supporters and opponents voicing strong opinions on his qualifications and suitability for the role. Ultimately, the vote ended in a 50-50 tie, leading Vice President Vance to step in and cast the deciding vote in favor of Hegseth.
