Vice President Kamala Harris refrained from mentioning her opponent, former President Donald Trump, during her campaign rallies in Michigan just two days before Election Day. Harris made four stops across the battleground state without directly referencing Trump, aiming to conclude her campaign on a positive note.
At a rally in Michigan State University’s Jamison Field House in East Lansing, Harris emphasized the need to move away from a decade of fear and division in politics. She highlighted the importance of unity and a fresh start, portraying a vision where Americans view each other as neighbors rather than enemies.
While Harris maintained an optimistic tone, some of her surrogates have engaged in verbal attacks against Trump and his supporters. President Biden, during a virtual campaign event with Voto Latino, criticized Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden and condemned his demonization of Latinos. Biden also made controversial remarks about Trump supporters, calling them 'garbage.'
Additionally, billionaire Mark Cuban made comments perceived as insulting towards Trump's treatment of women. Cuban claimed that Trump avoids strong and intelligent women as they intimidate him and challenge his authority.
Meanwhile, Trump focused on campaigning in Pennsylvania, another crucial battleground state that played a significant role in the 2020 election. Trump had won Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in 2016, but these states shifted to support Biden in the most recent election.
