Vic Beasley wanted to boycott 2020 season, ‘chill and collect’ with Titans

From what we know publicly of Vic Beasley’s tenure with the Tennessee Titans, there’s no question his signing was an abject disaster for the team and now-former general manager, Jon Robinson.

Beasley was inked to a one-year, $9.5 million deal in 2020, which came on the heels of his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, openly stating they would not pursue an extension with the edge rusher.

That should have been a major red flag for Robinson, but he ignored it and went ahead to make what was one of many blunders during his tenure in Tennessee’s front office.

While Beasley’s time in Nashville was very much a disaster publicly, it was just as bad behind the scenes, at least according to former Titans Will Compton and Taylor Lewan on their “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast.

Compton detailed how Beasley tried to get Titans players to boycott the 2020 season before ever taking a snap at practice with the team.

Lewan then added that Beasley was once trapped in an elevator briefly before the start of a game and was not happy when it started working again because he wanted to “chill and collect” with the Titans.

You can check out the entire clip below, but warning: it contains naughty (but censored) language.

Beasley ended up playing in just five games before being released.

Ultimately, the Titans paid him all that money for three tackles, one forced fumble and no sacks. Beasley no doubt accomplished his goal of collecting and chilling.
