VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2023: Route, start times and everything you need to know

The VHI Women's Mini Marathon is set to take place in the capital this June Bank Holiday weekend, and there's good news for runners as the warm spell is expected to last.

The VHI Women's Mini Marathon went virtual in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it made a triumphant return in 2022 even there there was a bit of rain on the day. Now it's back once again on Sunday 4 June, and over the years since it first started up in 1981 an impressive 1.1million women have taken part.

Here is everything you need to know about the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon 2023, from start times, routes, and weather forecast for the day.

When is the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon 2023 taking place?

The VHI Women's Mini Marathon is to take place on Sunday June 4 and is starting at 12:30pm.

How long is the Women's Mini Marathon?

The VHI Women's Mini Marathon is a 10km race that can be completed by running or walking.

What route will the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon take?

This year the route for the road race will start on Fitzwilliam Street Upper. It will continue on to Lessen Street Upper all the way down to Stillorgan Road passing UCD, then moving on to Nutley Lane and finally Merrion Road before finishing up on Pembroke Road.

What age do I have to be to take part in the Women's Mini Marathon?

The minimum age to take part in the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon is 14 years old. After that, women of any age are welcome to take part in the mini marathon.

Weather forecast for the Women's Mini Marathon 2023

According to Met Eireann's forecast for Sunday, it' set to be glorious, sunny day for Dublin. The morning will start off sunny with some cloud later in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures will range from 18 to 25 degrees with just light easterly or variable winds. So mini marathon participants are being advised to prepare for the warm spell of weather by bringing along sunscreen, suitable hats and sunglasses if needed.
