Vet slashes cost of neutering dogs to help reduce risk of unwanted puppies

A vet is slashing the cost of dog neutering in a bid to encourage more owners to come forward with their pets and prevent unwanted puppies being born.

Drumahoe Veterinary Clinic in Co Derry is offering 20% off per patient, in a package that includes:

  • an appointment with a vet ahead of surgery
  • the operation
  • laser therapy of the wound at the time of surgery
  • a recovery bodysuit which means no collar of shame

  • post-op pain relief, a recovery pack and
  • two post up visits with a veterinary nurse

The pre-op check up with a vet is offered to establish the best course of action for the dog taking into consideration, their age, general health and weight.

Here's how the costs of neutering surgery work out:

  • Dogs under 25kg : £250 minus 20% with a total cost of £200
  • Dogs between 25kg and 45kg: £292 minus 20% with a total cost of £233.60
  • Dogs over 45kg: £341 minus 20% with a total cost of £272.80

The vets are taking new clients for the surgery and offering a further 10% to members of the their Pet Health Club. You can call 028 71311448 to enquire or book before June 30.
