Vermont Mental Health Agency Agrees to Pay $60,661 Over Claims It Billed Medicaid for Case Management Not Provided

A central Vermont mental health agency will pay $60,661.50 to resolve allegations that it billed the state's Medicaid program for case management services a patient did not receive. Attorney General Charity Clark announced the settlement with Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) on Sept. 29.

The case centers on one Medicaid patient. According to the state, the agency budgeted far more case management hours than it delivered, billed Medicaid for the difference, and provided inadequate support while it was responsible for the person's care.
