Breaking news from New York City reveals a significant verdict in the civil corruption trial involving long-time top National Rifle Association (NRA) CEO, Wayne LaPierre. A jury has determined that LaPierre must pay the NRA over $4 million in damages for mismanagement and misspending.
The jury's decision in this civil case, not a criminal one, found LaPierre owing the NRA $4.3 million, in addition to a previously paid $1 million. The jury also ruled for his removal as head of the NRA, despite his pre-trial resignation. A bench trial will determine if he will be permanently barred from association with the NRA.
