Vera fans were once again left asking questions of ITV as the channel again aired a repeat in a prime time slot instead of the remaining episodes of series 11.
Some viewers got their hopes up when they saw the much loved crime drama in their TV guides last week, on a Friday instead of its usual Sunday.
Over five million people tuned into watch the third and fourth episodes of Vera’s 11th series in January, after them coming to air was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

But, after just a fortnight, the pause button was pressed on the new series once again as the return of Good Karma Hospital and the launch of Trigger Point took precedence with ITV.
And, while Vera was back on prime time TV on February 12, it was a series 10 repeat rather than one of series 11’s remaining episodes that was broadcast.
ITV did exactly the same this Friday, with another repeat, which was first aired less than two years ago, given prime time billing.
And, just like a week earlier, viewers flocked to Twitter in frustration.
One tweeted: “ ITV what have you done with series 11 episodes 5&6 of Vera? Why show series 10 again instead of latest episodes, but air them on foreign Britbox channels across the pond. What about us actual Brits?”
The angry tweet referenced the fact that Vera fans in the US have now had the chance to watch all of series 11 after the final episodes were made available on Britbox, another bone UK based viewers have to pick with ITV.
Another vexed devotee of all things DCI Stanhope took to Twitter to ask: “When is Vera on again please?"
There has been a glimmer of hope for Vera viewers in recent weeks.
As, while ITV say they don’t know when series 11 will resume, lead actress Brenda Blethyn has confirmed there will be more, telling her Twitter followers that filming is starting on series 12 in March.
