Vera producers are after 'confident swimmers' to star in future episodes of the hit ITV drama, with a number of roles up for grabs.
As mystery surrounds just when Vera will be back on screen, after series 11 was put on hold by the broadcaster earlier this year, a casting call has now appealed online, asking for a particular set of people to apply to join the likes of Brenda Blethyn and Kenny Doughty in the show.
While there are still two episodes of Vera series 11 left to air on ITV, the cast and crew have been in the North East over the last few months to shoot scenes for series 12, with leading lady Brenda and Vera author Ann Cleeves, both teasing there was more to come. And bosses aren't wasting any time in recruiting people to star in upcoming episodes.

On Wednesday, talent agent NE14 made a Facebook appeal for swimmers to get in touch, with a view to starring in Vera. The post read: "Open Water/Wild Swimmers in the North East.
"Strong swimmers of all genders, heritages and ages (over 18) needed for Vera. There are multiple paid roles available."
If you fit the bill and fancy applying email info@ne14.tv with your contact details, recent photo (1 headshot and ideally one of you swimming) and some background on your swimming experience.
It didn't take long for the casting call to gather plenty of comments and shares, with many people tagging their friends in the comments section underneath.
The last time a new episode of Vera was on screen was back in February, before it disappeared from ITV schedules with no prior warning, to be replaced by The Good Karma Hospital and Trigger Point.
