A 24-year-old Gordon man's vehicle has been seized with a court date on the horizon after a police officer witnessed him doing a burnout.
The police officer witnessed the burnout about 1.15pm on Monday in Kambah.
The driver of the modified white Holden Commodore was stopped and arrangements were made for the vehicle to be seized and towed from the scene. It will be held for 90 days.
The driver will also face charges relating to driving offences at a later date.
ACT Policing said burnouts and other hoon activity puts the driver and other road users at risk.
They urged all drivers to obey the road rules and consider their own and other road user's safety each time they get behind the wheel.
Anyone with information about dangerous driving behaviour can report this to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
