Vehicle location tracking device system in all passenger vehicles in Punjab from Aug 1

CHANDIGARH: For effective monitoring of all the vehicles in the state, the Punjab Government will introduce Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) system in all the passenger service vehicles (PSV) such as buses, minibuses and taxis from August 1.

Besides, the state government has also decided to link 'One Bus One Permit' with Vahan portal.

During the meeting to review the functioning of the offices of Regional Transport Authorities, transport minister Laljit Singh Bhullar allowed permit holders to deposit Motor Vehicles Tax on a single click on Vahan Portal after all permits have been brought in one bus one permit configuration. He asked for setting up enforcement for recovery of tax from defaulters.
