The Vegas Golden Knights were promised “free lap dances for life” by a local strip club if they won the Stanley Cup.
And following Tuesday's 9-3 Game 5 win over rivals the Florida Panthers to wrap up the Stanley Cup 4-1, Brittany Rose, the general manager of Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club Las Vegas, has a promise to live up to.
The win sealed Las Vegas' second major title after the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces won their championship in 2022. The Golden Knights finally got their hands on the Stanley Cup after missing out in their inaugural 2018 season, losing to the Washington Capitals in five games.
"The success of the Vegas Golden Knights has played an integral role in boosting our community’s morale," Rose told Fox News before the five-game series. "As the first professional sports team to debut in Las Vegas, we decided to show our support by extending free lap dances for life in efforts to help motivate and lead the [team] to victory."
The Knights are set for an almighty party in Las Vegas to celebrate their NHL success. Despite a date, time, and official route yet to be confirmed, the famous Vegas strip is set to play host, with the Golden Knights to follow the Aces blueprint for a parade.
The WNBA team started at Caesar’s Palace Drive and traveled down the Las Vegas Strip, before ending the parade at the celebration stage in front of the Bellagio Fountain, and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is looking forward to the celebrations.
“Vegas, you certainly know how to throw a party,” Bettman said. “What’s going on inside this arena and outside is incredible and a testament to what a great hockey market this is. What has happened here has been simply incredible. Not only is Vegas a hockey town, it’s a championship town.”
Golden Knights captain Mark Stone scored a hat-trick against the Panthers, the first in a Stanley Cup Final since Colorado’s Peter Forsberg in 1996. Forsberg happened to achieve the feat against the Panthers too. "Unbelievable,” Stone said. “The look in my teammates’ eyes when I got it, one of the craziest feelings I’ve ever had. I can’t even describe the feelings in my stomach right now. It’s everything you can imagine. The grind of an 82-game season, four playoff rounds. You grind and you grind and you grind.”
Following the NHL and WNBA success, Vegas will be hoping that more of their sports franchises follow suit, like the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL. The Raiders finished third in the AFC West last season, finishing behind eventual Super Bowl winners, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Los Angeles Chargers.
