On the 17th outing of the league season, Vauxhall Motors' unbeaten start came to an end with a 2-0 away defeat at Charnock Richard.
Louis Holt and Carl Grimshaw were the men on the scoresheet on a night to forget for the visitors. Vauxhall got close to striking first through Ben Holmes but his free kick from thirty yards crept over the bar just before Charnock put themselves in the lead on the fifth minute.
Louis Holt latched on to a long ball which caught Mick McGraa's defence out before slamming his effort past keeper James McClenaghan. Although it was the hosts that had started the game more positively, Motors' period of attack was close to bringing a goal through Bobbie McDonnell as the forward's effort was cleared off the line.
