Variant-busting Covid vaccine to be given to 26 million over-50s by December

NHS Covid-19 Vaccine NHS England

Health Secretary Steve Barclay has ordered 26 million people to be jabbed with the new variant busting Covid booster by December to ease winter pressure on the NHS.

But there are no plans to give the fourth jab to under 50s, NHS England has confirmed.

The vaccine to protect against Omicron will begin rolling out in eight days - the same day as Liz Truss is expected to be confirmed as the new PM.
