Vanessa Hudgens is soarin’, flyin’.
The “High School Musical” alum will host this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards live from Los Angeles next month, MTV announced Monday.
The June 5 awards show will be followed by the “Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted,” honoring reality television.
This isn’t the first time the 33-year-old “tick, tick...BOOM!” star has been involved with the show. In 2020, Hudgens hosted the first-ever “MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time” special.
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is among this year’s contenders in the best movie category, with Tom Holland scoring nominations for best performance in a movie and best hero and co-star Willem Dafoe getting recognized as a best villain contender. Holland and Zendaya were also nominated for best kiss, and the film was recognized with nominations for best fight and best team.
“The Batman,” “The Lost City,” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” were each nominated for three awards.
On the TV side, big nominees include “Euphoria,” which scored seven nods, including best show. And the “Real Housewives” franchise dominated many of the “Unscripted” categories, with the Bravo reality staple’s Potomac, New Jersey, Beverly Hills, and “Ultimate Girls Trip” incarnations all nominated.
The ceremony will air on MTV at 8 p.m. Eastern and be simulcast across multiple networks including The CW, BET, and Comedy Central.
