Vanessa Feltz 'top of wish list' for Celebs Go Dating bosses after her heartbreaking split

Celebs Go Dating bosses are said to be keen for Vanessa Feltz to appear on the show and are going to "pull out all the stops" to make it happen.

Vanessa announced at the weekend that she and her fiancé Ben Ofoedu had broken up after 16 years together, later speaking of how she felt "terribly humiliated", but would not let the shock of the split consume her.

The former Radio 2 presenter said she is "absolutely determined to put my best foot forward" despite her heartache.

Following the news of the split, bosses at E4 dating show Celebs Go Dating are apparently not waiting around, and are incredibly keen to sign Vanessa.

They are said to be willing to hand over big bucks to make the deal happen.

A source told The Sun: "Vanessa is top of the wish list when it comes to casting.

"Talks with potential cast mates are going to begin next month and producers are willing to throw big money Vanessa's way in a bid to get her to sign on the dotted line."

The source added that the nation adore Vanessa and she has been dignified and brave in dealing with the split, with the public wishing her a happy ending.

The source went on: "It remains to be seen whether Vanessa will take them up on their offer but they are going to pull out all the stops, so watch this space."

Celebs Go Dating has been going since 2016 and the show's experts have matched many stars with members of the public, from Pete Wicks, Gemma Collins, Sinitta, Laura Anderson and Joey Essex.

Last night on her TalkTV programme, Vanessa directly addressed her heartache, telling viewers: "I can’t be the only person in the country nursing a broken heart, can I? I am absolutely determined to put my best foot forward, to keep on trucking, all that sort of stuff 'Keep calm and carry on'.

"Having said all of this, obviously inside I’m feeling all sorts of things, no questions about it.

"Very hurt, very sad, terribly disappointed, worried about the future, all the normal stuff – of course I am."

Appearing on This Morning today, Vanessa said she has found enormous solace in the support she has received from others.

“People have been amazing,” she said in the ITV studio. “Absolutely amazing and of course it helps a lot.

“I can’t sleep at all, so reading thousands and thousands of messages from lovely people on Instagram is something to do in the night.”

She added to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: “When you have to end a relationship it’s very hard. I’ve had what feels like millions of messages from so, so many people going through it.

“I wouldn’t want to minimise in any way what it’s like when you’re heartbroken. It’s horrible.”

With tears in her eyes, Vanessa went on: “I think it helps when people say you shouldn’t feel foolish for having faith in your own partner.

“You shouldn’t feel that you’ve done something stupid because you believed in somebody that you loved. That isn’t a ridiculous thing to do.
