Vanessa Feltz has opened up about the “overwhelming” support she has received following her split with Ben Ofoedu and revealed whether or not she would consider taking part in ITV’s proposed Love Island for older generations.
The broadcaster, 61, shocked fans last month when she announced that she had split with her partner of 16 years after finding out that he had been unfaithful.
Since then, she says she has been blown away by the outpouring of love that she has received.
Speaking to Betway, she said: “I just cannot believe it. I’ve honestly had thousands of direct messages on Instagram, all of them absolutely lovely. I’ve heard from every single famous woman in the country, except Queen Camilla. I think she’s the only one, but everyone else has been just reaching out.
“My friends and family obviously have been incredible. I’ve really felt a proper outpouring of warmth and love. I didn’t expect it. I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed, it’s been amazing. Thank you very much to everybody who’s been so lovely to me. It’s meant the world to me, absolutely meant the world to me.
“I’ve now got 347,000 Instagram followers in just one year. I used to have an £8 Nokia and now I can use social media. I think that’s pretty good.”
Now that she is officially back on the market, the question is would she consider looking for love on something like Love Island?
ITV announced earlier this year that they were planning a spin-off of the popular ITV2 dating show which would be aimed at older generations called The Romance Retreat.
“I think the nation has been very, very good to me over the years. I think the lovely, beautiful nation of viewers need to be spared the sight of me in a bikini!” Feltz replied.
However she says she would jump at the chance of hosting it.
