Vanessa Feltz is ready to date again, but the much-loved TV star is adamant that her next partner will have to fit specific requirements in order to be in her life following her heartbreaking split from ex-fiancé, Ben Ofoedu.
The This Morning agony aunt, 61, was in a relationship with Ben, 50, for over 16-years, but called off their romance back in January after discovering he had cheated on her with multiple women.
After overcoming her heartbreak and coming to terms with the fact Ben was not her 'forever person', Vanessa is now ready to get back out there after being supported by her closest friends and family in recent months.
Now on the hunt for a new man to call her own, Vanessa is adamant that the next person who comes into her life has to be 'honest' and 'kind'.
"They’d have to be kind and honest – those would be the primary requirements," Vanessa shared. "Gentle, good humoured, good natured and honest and transparent. So, I would really like it if someone said they were going to post a letter, they were really going to post a letter. That would be incredibly reassuring."
While her main focus is on honesty, kindness, and stability, Vanessa is also hoping that her next love will also be easy on the eyes.
"Obviously, I’m still up for incredibly handsome, enormously entertaining, very clever, dynamic – all that razzly dazzly stuff I still want and like. I’m like anyone else – you’ve got to fancy the person, there’s got to be some chemistry, of course. But the absolute optimum thing would be kindness and honesty," she told OK! Magazine.
Vanessa – host of a string of TV and radio shows down the years and a former contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother – told Ben to move out of their £3.5million home back in January after discovering his cheating ways.
The former lovebirds had first met in 2001 – two years after his chart hit Turn Around - and they began dating in 2005 and were engaged the following year.
After their bitter break-up, Vanessa declared on Instagram: “It’s now clear that it’s over and I feel that you know once the trust is gone you can’t really get that back. I’m pretty disappointed and shocked about those horrible things but also full of resolve because I’m not going to let this defeat me.”
