Vanessa Feltz's ex Ben seeking therapy to find out why he cheated and win her back

Ben Ofeodu is seeking therapy in a bid to win back ex Vanessa Feltz.

The Phats and Small singer has told how he wants a psychotherapist to treat him and find out why he cheated on her.

He believes unresolved issues from his cheating back in 2015 ultimately caused him to stray again.

Ben, 50, told: “I don’t come from a family of therapy. I’m an English kid, Nigerian background. But I’d love to see a therapist.

“It’s about why you do what you do which needs to be worked out and I need someone to help me find out why.

“The way it’s been portrayed is that I’m a serial cheater and that I go to holiday parks meeting this woman and that. That’s not right.

"There’s two incidents that have made me throw my life away.”

Turn around singer Ben confessed to cheating on the This Morning agony aunt and breaking her heart.

He admitted to sleeping with a woman three times while gigging in Ibiza in 2015 and keeping it secret from former Radio 2 host Vanessa for eight months.

The infidelity came to light after Ben’s fling revealed all to Vanessa but she forgave him after a brief split.

But in December Ben’s second indiscretion came to light.

He’d been sexting a woman on Instagram for nine months and eventually Celebrity Big Brother and Strictly Come Dancing favourite Vanessa, 60, caught sight of the messages and confronting him.

Around the same time she’d been told he had said something sexually suggestive to someone at a Butlin’s gig in Skegness in November.

She dumped him and threw him out of their London home.

Now he hopes a counsellor will help him beat his demons and get her back.

He said: “I thought we had rebuilt our relationship by 2018 but I realise now that we papered over the cracks and I hadn’t looked at myself and asked ‘why did I do that?’ That’s why it reared its head somewhere else.

“There’s always a reason for it. I didn’t find out what that reason was. In the last three weeks I’ve thought more about it. I should have talked to a therapist. Had I looked at it back then, it might not have happened again.

“I’m going to be seeking help. I think it stems from being insecure. Everyone else thinks is super confident. If someone compliments me, I fall for it.”

He admits to drinking too much which caused him to makes two "massive mistakes" that have ruined his life - and told how teetotal Vanessa didn’t like his boozing.

“I like to drink,” he confessed. “I’m social. Vanessa doesn’t drink. If I would have four drinks, she’d say you’ve actually had six.
“It was in the last year that I drank more than I used to. That’s due to personal grief.”

He lost his younger brother Ray to a brain haemorrhage after a long illness in August, aged just 47.

“I loved my brother Roy so deeply. He was my go to guy when I was going through problems. I’d ask his advice. He was my wingman through life.

“After my brother, I was drifting from Vanessa. When I’m dealing with something, I do hide, I bottle up.”
