Vanessa Feltz's brutal one-word description of Madonna after interview

Journalist and television personality Vanessa Feltz appeared on Michael McIntyre's quiz show The Wheel on Saturday, November 26, as a celebrity expert on the topic of literature and rather than unveiling some literary facts, she recalled a sour meeting with pop icon Madonna, calling the singer "foul".

It came on the same show that contestant Jonathan, a waste management business owner, took home the largest sum the show has ever paid out. The show sees contestants guided by celebrity experts answer questions in the hope of winning money. Jonathan was tasked with a question on American drag queen RuPaul.

It read: 'When RuPaul was asked how he created his drag persona, which of these was NOT in his description?' The choices were 'A dash of Dolly Parton', 'A pinch of Madonna', 'Two parts Cher' and 'Three parts Diana Ross'. Beginning to answer this, Vanessa, 60, said: "Interesting, I mean looking at RuPaul and the amazing persona and the great diva he is, how could he not be channelling Cher? How could he not be chanelling Diana Ross?"

As Jonathan said he was drawn to Madonna's choice, Vanessa agreed and began to explain: "How can I possibly say this, but I did once interview her and she was absolutely foul. One of the rudest people I've ever had the misfortune of hanging out with, Madonna. So I would say, of all of these great divas, and I have also interviewed Diana Ross, who's utterly charming and told me she does all her own packing and also dyed her hair a wonderful shade of blue in the bath. So I adore her. So if I were to answer this, I would do exactly what you think and I'd get rid of Madonna."

Answering the question correctly by taking Vanessa's advice, Michael McIntyre erupted into cheers, saying: "Thank the Lord Madonna was so rude to Vanessa!"

Vanessa, laughing, added: "So rude!" Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to voice their opinions on this little nugget of information and name-dropping. One user wrote: "Vanessa’s just gone up in my estimation" while another, @joolsreevey, said: "Oh my god! I love Vanessa."
