Vandals have left a trail of destruction after trashing 10 vehicles in a village. Tyres have been slashed, windows smashed and paintwork keyed - with one of the damaged cars now having 'f*k u' etched on the side.
One vehicle has 'Bill' scrawled on the bonnet, as police look for clues for who is responsible. The wrecking spree is believed to have taken place between 10pm and midnight on Saturday (April 23) in Silverdale, North Staffordshire.
Incidents were reported by neighbours in Mill Street, High Street, Ford Street and Daleian Court, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports. Lauren Burgess, whose brother's car was one of those damaged, spoke out about the mess on social media.
The 25-year-old said: “I got a call from my brother saying that he’d gone out to get into his car to go to work, and he’d noticed it was all etched on his car. I posted it on Facebook and I had a few messages sent from other people saying that their tyres had been slashed.
“The cars had been scraped. It seems like it was all around Silverdale, and not just one specific area.
“One person has said that they parked up at 9.30pm and noticed it around 11pm. There have got to be 10 or 11 damaged cars, probably more.
"There are cars with one big scrape, lots of slashed tyres, somebody had their car window smashed, and somebody else had all four tyres slashed. It’s completely unprovoked and out of nowhere.
"I’m just angry for my brother and all these other people." Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the wrecking spree.
A police spokesman said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses after a number of cars were damaged in Silverdale at the weekend. Police were called to reports of 10 vehicles either being scratched or having their tyres slashed between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
"The vehicles - including a Hyundai i20, a Vauxhall Corsa, a Ford Fiesta and a Seat Ibiza - were damaged on Bridge Street, Mill Street, Shoredale Close, High Street and Ford Street. Enquiries are ongoing."
Witnesses should call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 522 of April 24, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
