Vance optimistic as US-Iran deal awaits Trump green light

US Vice President JD Vance says Washington and Tehran “are going back and forth on a couple of language points” but are very close to sign an MoU that would extend the ceasefire for 60 days. (Photo: AFP)

Trump remained uncharacteristically silent into Friday morning, despite US sources telling AFP a deal just needed his sign-off, underscoring the volatility of talks three months after the war rattled the Middle East and the global economy.
