Van Bronckhorst 'lining up' Rangers reunion with Lawrence as transfer bid 'prepared'

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is reportedly lining up a Rangers reunion with Tom Lawrence at Besiktas.

It's claimed the Dutch manager is keen to sign the 30-year-old this summer.

Van Bronckhorst was manager at Rangers when the Welshman was signed and it's thought he wants to reunite with Lawrence in Turkey.

According to Kartal Haber, Lawrence is wanted by Van Bronckhorst with an official bid prepared to be submitted to Ibrox chiefs.

Lawrence still has one year remaining on his contract in Govan meaning a transfer fee would be required to make a deal happen.

Van Bronckhorst - who was appointed as Besiktas manager earlier this month - is aiming to bolster his squad with Lawrence one of his main acquisitions this summer.

The reports come after claims Van Bronxkhorst would seek a deal for Ridvan Yilmaz during the transfer window - however, it appears the full-back remains part of Philippe Clement's plans in Glasgow.

Reports in Turkey also linked Van Bronckhorst with a possible swoop for James Tavernier while Steven Gerrard has also been tipped to make a move for the goal-scoring right-back.

Van Bronckhorst won't be short of Rangers connections in Turkey, regardless of whether he can get a deal for Lawrence over the line or not.

He'll face former players Borna Barisic and John Lundstram who have both made the move to Trabzonspor in the Super Lig after being released by Rangers at the end of the season.

And Van Bronckhorst could also face off against Ryan Kent with the winger on the books at Fenerbahce - where Jose Mourinho has recently been appointed manager.
