GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST insists Allan McGregor has earned the right to regain the Rangers gloves as he prepares to start between the sticks against Liverpool.
The keeper missed out on the number one jersey at the start of the campaign after Van Bronckhorst opted to put his faith in Jon McLaughlin ahead of the new term.
But a horror Old Firm showing against Celtic was followed by a 4-0 defeat to Ajax as questions were raised over McLaughlin’s place in the starting line-up.
McGregor produced a terrific performance in the loss to Napoli and then retained his berth for the win over Hearts as McLaughlin had to settle for a spot on the bench on his return from injury.
Van Bronckhorst said: “I don’t like to talk about No.1 and No.2. I didn’t do that with Jon at the start of the season when Jon was starting.
“Jon started the season but the performances Allan had in the last couple of games were really good so he will continue in goal.
“Of course I had to inform both players, which I did last week.
“We all have one thing in mind, which is to be successful for this club and the decision is for me to make and not players to accept.”
