A Vale-based art group - which battles against social isolation among the elderly - is holding an art exhibition this weekend for Cancer Research UK.
The Vale of Leven Mature Art Group (VOLMAG) was formed by Ivar Jackson to help elderly people who were alone, and to create a sense of community.
The group will run the art exhibition at the weekend to spread awareness about the group and raise what they can for Cancer Research UK in memory of a fellow group goer's late wife.
VOLMAG member Sandra Quigley spoke on how important the exhibition will be for the group, she said: "Different people come for different reasons, whether that’s painting or just to be part of something.
"We don’t want to charge a door fee, but we thought because one of the chaps in the group had lost his wife to cancer, we could donate all proceeds to Cancer Research UK.
"We are going to pick different charities in the future and spread the generosity."
The exhibition will take place on Saturday and Sunday in St Kessog's Church hall from 10am to 4pm.
