Allman's winning throw in Paris surpassed her performance at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, where she achieved a score of 68.98 to clinch the gold medal. Elkasevic, previously known as Sandra Perkovic, narrowly missed the podium with a score of 65.01.
Elkasevic has a history of success in discus throwing, having won gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. Allman, on the other hand, boasts an impressive track record with a silver and a bronze in the World Championships.
