Vadakkencherry bus accident: Tackle reckless driving on war-footing, Kerala HC Orders

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the transport commissioner S Sreejith to take action against reckless driving on a war-footing basis and to inform steps to be taken to improve road safety.

Justice Devan Ramachandran issued an order (WP-C Nos. 32680/08 and another) after the transport commissioner appeared in person before the court to explain about the tour bus accident at Vadakkencherry. The transport commissioner highlighted the issues faced by the departments authorized to take action, including the lack of a sufficient number of personnel.
