Vacant land in Leigh to be transformed into affordable homes

Vacant land in Leigh will be brought back into use as flats for affordable rent following the construction of a two-storey building.

The site, off Rothay Street, will contain 10 one bedroom flats with seven parking spaces to the rear of the block. Just half a mile from Leigh town centre, the land that was once an ATS tyre service depot and workshop will become a living space that is affordable.

Each flat will have its own kitchen, bathroom, living area and entrance - meaning it would not operate how a House of Multiple Occupation (HMO) would.
