A prominent Belfast city centre shop that has been vacant for a number of years could soon get a new lease of life.
The former Eason store on Donegall Place has been a gaping hole in the city centre since it closed in 2020 when it shut down its seven stores in Northern Ireland.
The empty store is one of a number of prominent businesses that have left Donegall Place in recent years.

However, in the coming weeks and months the store may get a new lease of life as negotiations are taking place between the letting agent and a prospective new tenant. But nothing has been confirmed yet.
Letting Agent for the property, Finch, told Belfast Live that some enquiries have been made about the property by possible tenants and the landlord has been carrying out work on the building to prepare it for a new retailer to move in.
They said: "We have been speaking with a prospective tenant regarding the former Eason building on Donegall Place but nothing has been confirmed yet and negotiations are still taking place. Although we hope that we will have some news regarding this in the coming weeks and months.
"The landlord has been carrying out some work in order to prepare it for a retailer to move in if negotiations prove to be successful."
