Uttarakhand: Village where chief election commissioner trekked struggling for road connectivity since 15 years

DEHRADUN: In the wake of chief election commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar trekking to Dumak, the polling booth farthest from a motorable road in Uttarakhand, the lack of road connectivity to the village situated in Chamoli district in the Garhwal Himalayas is again being raised.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a road was to be built to the village at an estimated cost of Rs 11.2 crore. The project was approved in 2007-08.
