Lucknow: The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm spread over 14 districts in the state.
This may result in 4-5 degrees drop in mercury from the present average 42 degree C.
People may get relief and respite from the scorching sun and heatwave for a few days till April 23.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Hamirpur was recorded at 44.2 degree Celsius, followed by Kushinagar, Jhansi, Agra, Kanpur at 44.1 degree, 43.6 degree, 43.4 degree and 43 degree respectively. After the possibility of rain in 14 districts of the state including western Uttar Pradesh, a drop in temperature is expected.
