KANPUR: Etawah’s Lion Safari Park has been hogging limelight after the death of three blackbucks in the past few days. Though the safari administration is considering the death of the blackbucks as natural, it is not ruling out the possibility of the presence of a leopard in the Antelope safari section where the blackbucks were housed.
Efforts have been intensified to trap the leopard. Two cages have been placed in the buffer zone including Antelope safari, safari sources said.
Safari deputy director Arun Kumar Singh said, “As of now, no sign of leopard/s has been found. But, we are not taking chances. Patrolling has been intensified to trace the whereabouts of leopard/s, if any, in the safari. Cages have been kept at two points. Night patrolling has also been increased for the safety of all the wildlife living in the safari.” tnn
