UNNAO/LUCKNOW: Former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti on Wednesday said that the BJP has not used the name of Ram to reap political dividends, but others are doing that. The BJP has always worked for 'Ramrajya', she said, addressing a gathering at Bidhnu Bazaar of Sarosi block in Unnao where she sought votes and people's support for party candidate from Unnao Sadar Pankaj Gupta.
Speaking from a stage set in the middle of the huge ground, Bharti's public meeting was in a remote village in Unnao, but there was no dearth of crowd as people could be seen trickling in till the end of the programme. Many of them came to catch a glimpse of the firebrand leader. She left the venue onboard her chopper.
Bharti held another public meeting at Ghurghuri Talab ground in Sarojininagar seeking support for the BJP candidate from Sarojininagar Rajeshwar Singh. She said that Singh has a clean image and people like him are needed in politics today. "A king should be a yogi so that he can have the same feelings for everyone," she said.
In her public meetings she attacked the opposition parties for their regimes that were full of crime and corruption in the state. "People should not forget the period when the SP was in power. No one was safe, not even officers. People's properties were encroached upon and no one would even lodge a complaint," she said.
"In the BSP regime, crime and corruption went hand in hand and so was with the Congress governments in the state. Things have changed since 2017. Yogiji has brought a change. The BJP regime is the one of sukh-shanti," she said in the Unnao public meeting.
