Uttar Pradesh: 1 dead, dozen injured in clash over pigeon theft in Muzaffarnagar

MUZAFFARNAGAR: One person was killed and a few injured after a fight erupted between two groups over a pigeon in the village of Tandheda, Muzaffarnagar on late Thursday evening. Police sent the body for postmortem and have launched an investigation.

The clash occurred between the families of neighbours Mohd Kamaruddin and Mohd Sayyad in the village that falls under the limits of the Kakrauli police station of Muzaffarnagar. According to police sources, the clash occurred amid an allegation that a child in Kamruddin's family had caught a pet pigeon of the Sayyad family and kept it in the house.

This led to a heated argument between the members of the two families in which Kamruddin, 55, died due to injuries from a sword. Several others including women from both sides were also injured.
