Sam Lammers may have only just joined FC Utrecht on loan from Rangers.
But after his debut for the Eredivisie club, some of their fans are already calling for the 26-year-old to be snapped up on a permanent basis.
The on-loan Ranger attacking midfielder played from the start today as Utrecht drew 0-0 with Vitesse Arnhem.
Of course, with the game finishing in a goalless stalemate, that doesn't suggest Lammers had a huge impact on the match.
However, with four shots, the Dutchman managed to most chances on the pitch. And it's clear by some of the reaction on social media that the fans have taken to him right away.
One said: "Lammers brings much more energy than Lidberg and Seuntjes combined," while another added: "What a breath of fresh air that Lammers is. Has already shot more than Lidberg in the entire first half of the season."
Another account wrote: "FC Utrecht is better footballing team and also got the better chances, but the well playing debutant Lammers, Flamingo, Bousaid, Ter Avest and Jensen did not get the ball in, making it 0-0 at half-time."
And a third commented: "It may be quick, but Utrecht should go all out to buy Lammers next season."
For balance, one fan was less than impressed. He wrote: "Seen 24 minutes of Sam Lammers and I’ve had enough."
Lammers is contracted to Rangers until 2027 after signing a four-year deal last summer under Michael Beale. He arrived from Serie A side Atalanta for a fee of around £3.5m.
There is no obligation to buy Lammers as part of Rangers' deal with Utrecht.
Lammers revealed he didn't have to leave Rangers to return to the Eredivisie and it was his decision to go out on loan.
He said: "I really didn't necessarily have to leave Rangers, a wonderful club of course.
"But when you notice in conversations how much technical director Jordy Zuidam and the manager Ron Jans wanted to bring me to Utrecht, it made me think."
