CHANDIGARH: With the Union government and UT administration pushing for privatisation of UT power department, the petition submitted by the UT administration before the Joint Electricity Regulatory commission (JERC) states that UT’s power department will continue to remain in revenue surplus of Rs 20.54 crore in 2022-23.
UT has also proposed that there is no need to hike power tariff for 2022-23. Last year, JERC had reduced power tariff by around 9.58% in Chandigarh and in 2022-23, there is no proposal of hike. Still UT electricity department is in revenue surplus.
