Chandigarh: City residents will have to pay hiked water tariff from April 1. Former UT administrator V P Singh Badnore had deferred hiked water tariff till March 31, 2022. According to UT officials, the new tariff will come into force automatically from April 1. The UT administration will hold a meeting with officials concerned for implementation of hiked tariffs.
A senior UT official said that there was no need to issue fresh order for implementation of the hiked water tariff as the administration had not withdrawn the notification issued for water tariff hike and it was only put on hold till March 31, 2022. Saying that it would come to force automatically from April 1, he said the meeting would be held for implementation of the hiked water tariff and its execution.
