United States men’s national team and Atlanta United centerback Miles Robinson was arrested by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Saturday on a charge of misdemeanor theft by taking, according to the arrest records.
Robinson, 25, was arrested at 825 Battery Avenue in Atlanta just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, per jail records. He was released after posting a $150 bond on Sunday afternoon.
According to Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Robinson reportedly took a shot of liquor from a waitress at PBR Atlanta in The Battery area outside Truist Park and then declined to pay for it.
“We are aware of a recent misdemeanor arrest involving Miles Robinson. We are continuing to gather all information related to the incident and will not have further comment at this time,” Atlanta United said in a statement to the AJC.
Robinson suffered a torn Achilles in May, the team confirmed at the time, and has not played since. He will be out for the remainder of the MLS season and is all but certain to miss the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
