Using the noise of FIFA, Kansas City police uncover massive trafficking ring. So far, 9 have been rescued and 19 arrested: ‘Bad actors out there’

While the 2026 FIFA World Cup brought massive crowds and excitement to Kansas City, a significant law enforcement operation was moving quietly behind the scenes to address a dark reality. According to KCTV5, the intense atmosphere of the tournament served as a backdrop for a coordinated effort that resulted in 19 arrests and the recovery of nine missing children who had been identified as high-risk victims of potential trafficking.

FOX 4 reported that more than 15 local, state, and federal agencies joined forces to tackle the issue. This massive collaboration included the FBI, the Kansas City Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, the US Marshals Service, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Agents carried out 17 missions across the city to target human traffickers, child predators, and individuals attempting to engage in sexual acts with minors.
