Parents who buy packaged foods for babies and toddlers may not spend much time thinking about international food standards, but a meeting scheduled for this fall will tackle questions involving nutrients, ingredients and standards for foods intended for some of the youngest consumers.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s U.S. Codex Office has scheduled a virtual public meeting for October 5, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET. The meeting will give consumers, industry representatives and other interested parties an opportunity to hear about and comment on proposed U.S. positions ahead of an international nutrition standards meeting in Germany.
