Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, who briefly played alongside former Cardiff City star Ross McCormack for Australian side Central Coast Mariners, was skipper of the Rest of the World side, which included the likes of Cafu and Patrice Evra.
But it was Andriy Shevchenko who took the spotlight ahead of kick-off, as Bolt handed the ex-Chelsea star his captain's armband, adorned with blue and yellow colours, in a heart-warming gesture to acknowledge the ongoing war in the former striker's homeland.
Shevchenko scored 48 goals in 111 games for his country, and was head coach when his team bowed out of Euro 2020 at the hands of England last summer.
The gesture from Bolt clearly left the 45-year-old a little emotional as he looked as though he was struggling to fight back the tears, before embracing the Jamaican and pointing to the armband.
