US veteran has arm broken while being dragged from Senate protest

A US veteran who was protesting against the war in Iran had his arm broken as he was pulled away from an Armed Services subcommittee meeting on Wednesday (4 March).

Footage shows Brian C. McGinnis, an anti-war protester and former Marine, grabbing a doorway while officers and a Republican senator, Tim Sheehy, tried to remove him from the room. He shouted, “No one wants to fight for Israel,” as he clung to the door.

Capitol Police said that McGinnis “got his own arm stuck in a door to resist our officers and force his way back into the hearing room,” and said he was treated for his injuries.

McGinnis was arrested and faces three counts each of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and unlawful demonstration, according to Capitol Police.
