US sprinters Lyles, Jefferson-Wooden win 200s in Tokyo

American superstar Noah Lyles raised four fingers in triumph after scorching home to win a fourth successive world championships 200m title in Tokyo, emulating the legendary Usain Bolt.

Lyles had to dig deep to claim the win, edging out countryman Kenny Bednarek in 19.52 seconds.

Bednarek grabbed the silver in 19.58 just ahead of rising Jamaican star Bryan Levell (19.64) and reigning Olympic champ Letsile Tebogo form Botswana, who could not even snare a place on the podium.
