US job market rebounds as employers add 162,000 jobs and unemployment rate holds steady

The U.S. employment landscape experienced a rebound in August, with business owners adding an unexpected 162,000 positions while the unemployment rate remained steady at 4.1 percent.

The employment figures, released Friday by the Labor Department, may offer a welcome signal for President Donald Trump just two months prior to midterm elections where economic performance is a central issue for voters.
