US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has promised the United States' Gulf allies that Washington would protect their interests as it seeks to hammer out a final settlement of the Middle East war in talks with Iran. Speaking with FRANCE 24's Sharon Gaffney, independent journalist and author of the newsletter Badlands, Borzou Daragahi says the White House is "in something like a panic" over the prospect of Gulf countries creating an alternative security arrangement in the region that could undermine the Abraham Accords.
